The Paper Princess
With the exception of her baby Viv, Reese has never shown much interest for toys. But when it comes to art projects she could spend hours at the table. This is what she looks like, several times a day. Busy making creations out of the recycled paper from Daddy's office. She is quite resourceful with the paper projects too. When she wants something she'll ask us if we can buy it, and then when we say "someday..." she loses patience and heads off to the table and makes it out of paper, glue, tape, and scissors. After that we don't usually hear much about a need to purchase new things. Last week she made a piggy bank and I'm kicking myself for not have taken a photo of the 3-D tea kettle that she made a few weeks ago. Below is her camp scene with horses. These days there are lots of horses, including the 3-D horse below, which was the friend to the real pony that Daddy brought home from Baltimore after his work trip. So far the only downside to the paper projects is the emotional trauma if and when they are destroyed - either accidentally or intentionally - by ornery 2-yr old baby brothers.

Reese, you have something in common with your cousin Annie--she ADORED to make things (and have me make things) out of paper. I'm sure the next time you two see each other, she'd be happy to do that with you. I like making things too!
