Full Speed Ahead

I am very, very busy these days. I've been pulling myself up and standing while holding onto the coffee table, couch, high chair, and even the washer. As you can see in my video below, I can crawl faster than my parents can chase me. I've also learned to transition from crawling over into a sitting position too!

Remote controls are much more fun than regular toys. Every now and then, I startle myself when the music turns on full blast!
The washer is really funny. It turns and splashes, then it stops, and then it turns the other way with more splashing.
I made a break for the kitchen while I was being dressed, but Daddy caught me as I rounded the corner.
I've been practicing using a spoon to eat towards the end of dinner. I like to put my hands in the food and squeeze it through my fingers. I think that eating with hands is much easier than spoons, but spoons are great for catapulting food across the room too.

Busy Little Bee

I'm constantly on the move these days. In just a couple of days, I went from climbing up 1-2 stairs, to climbing up the entire flight of stairs 3-4 times each day. I learned that if I climb up to the top, I can see Daddy working in the office!

In addition to my stair climbing, I can crawl really fast these days. I like to chase my parents around the house and play peek-a-boo with them. Sometimes I crawl on my knees, but most of the time I belly crawl.

The past week or two I've been practicing standing and hanging onto the couch and coffee table. In the last two days I've learned to pull myself up from the ground into a standing position without any help. I still tip over though, so Mom and Dad still have to be nearby to catch me.

This week my parents also gave me back my spoon! It was good fun, and some of the food actually hit my mouth this time!

Stair Climbin'

This week I learned to climb stairs! One stair on Monday, two stairs on Tuesday....

I also mastered two new finger foods - bananas and peaches. Yeah for slippery and yummy snacks!

Check out my sweet mohawk!

Eating O's

This has been a big week! I finally got the hang of eating O's cereal all by myself. In the past, they never seemed to make it into my mouth, but now I can't stop eating them.

I also learned how to "walk" while my parents help hold my hands. I've been practicing a lot, and sometimes I stand and lean against the couch while I play. I'm still pretty wobbly, so Mom and Dad are usually there to catch me if I begin to lose my balance.

I've been crawling all around the house lately, and I'm really quick. I like to play hide-and-seek with my parents and peek around corners and laugh. Today, I even crawled up onto the first step of the stairs! It's past my bed time, so goodnight now.

River Trips

The past couple of weeks have been very hot. So, the past few weekends Mom and Dad have been taking me up to the mountains to swim along the Payette River, which is about 40 minutes away. We found a perfect spot with a sandy beach and calm water to play in. My favorite activity is sitting in the sand with my feet in the water and playing with my measuring cups. I even sneak a little sand into my mouth when Mom and Dad aren't looking. Lately, I've been practicing walking while my parents hold my hands, but the river water was a little cold for that. After our river trip, it was time for a bath. I've been taking big-girl baths sitting up in the tub, so my parents surprised me with a huge duck in the bath tub! This make bath time SO much fun. When you squeeze the beak, the duck makes a "Quack, quack, quack" sound which makes me laugh.
