Every day Reese happily comes home from school to do her homework. We can only hope she continues to enjoy learning so much. Sifting through her daily assignments is so much fun for us these days and we can't get enough of her writing. Here is one of her latest assignments to describe what her restaurant would be like if she opened one. I can only imagine that her parents like to dine out, relax, and chat and drink.

Fall Program at BRM
Nash had his annual fall program at school today. What a ham! At the end he surprised us with a backwards plank walk which was something that he had been practicing.

Christmas List Making
'Tis the season for toy catalogs and list making. Cleaning the kitchen counter I came across 23 consecutive pages of this. It's safe to say that Reese inherited her Dad and Grammy's list making genes.

Halloween Fun
We all had lots of fun this weekend for Halloween. Nash kicked off the weekend with his annual Halloween party at school complete with fun music and decorations. Then on Saturday we started off the night with friends for a Halloween potluck to try to get as much healthy food into our kids bodies before the candy began. This also meant some good food and drinks for the "big kids." After a group shot we all headed out to trick-or-treat in the north end before heading home to our neighborhood where we met up with more friends and kept the party going until well after everyone's bed time. On Sunday we kicked back with pizza and watched football.

Reese's 7th Birthday Bash
On Saturday we had a gaggle of 2nd grade girls over to celebrate Reese's 7th birthday. Nash invited best buddy Elias. The group was a combination of neighbor girls, a couple friends from last year's class, and a few really sweet new friends from this year's class who we were happy to meet. The weather was classic fall Boise and this year we splurged on a bouncy house. After the party our friends Jeremy and Chelsea and their kids came over for a small after-party. The inflatable people had a late night, so after the after-party Mom and Dad joined Reese and Nash for one last jump in the bouncy house in the dark before bed. A very good day for Miss Reese and all of us for that matter!
Notice all the gap toothed kids and/or adult teeth? Not our girl. She's still holding on to all of her baby teeth.

Beautiful Babies
Business is booming for our young photographer and so are her prices so this year we took our own annual photos. The photos don't have the same post-processing pizzazz, but the kids are still beautiful babies.
Kids Duathlon
The kids competed in their first duathlon this weekend. Nash ran and biked 1/4 mile each and Reese ran a 1/2 mile with a slightly longer bike. Nash took off like lightning but quickly tapered and towards the end requested a carry to the run/bike transition from Mom - no! - which left him a little behind in the age 3-5 group. By the time he got to the bike where he shines he was behind the trikes and couldn't pass. Next year lets hope the bike is first! Reese had a blast and took third place in the 6-8 age group - not too shabby!

Highlands Soccer Stars
Reese is playing rec soccer this fall. Coach Cara and Coach Jamie are great teachers with lots of patience and have made Monday practice and Saturday games lots of fun for everyone. She couldn't have been placed on a better team that comes complete with three other 4-year old younger brothers which makes practice and game day fun for Nash too.

Back at the BMX Track
Cold temperatures and rain/snow kept us away from camping in Stanley over Labor Day weekend, but we soaked up perfect Boise weather and were thankful for warm toasty beds. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday night we had BBQ's with various friends who we missed over the summer. The kids soaked up all the playtime with friends just as much as we did and hung well past their bedtime. They even "slept in" till 7:30.
Didn't think to bring cameras so sorry no pics of the kiddie keggers, but I did take a few videos of the kids at the bike track today. Of course Ryan and I couldn't be happier at their enthusiasm to ride and are so proud of our little riders.

Last Days in Rochester
We were lucky to spend the last 10 days in Rochester with Mike and the kids (we missed and love you Michelle, next time!). Annie is a sweet, sweet teenager and Emerson confirmed that one of the best ways to entertain your kids is to have a 10-year old boy around.
Thank you Grammy and Bompa for all the love and patience with us all in your home - "the cat" included. We'll see you next summer! (...just kidding!!) ;)
