A Day in the Life of Nash

Post lunchtime craziness, followed by a whack to the photographer.
Whacking the merchandise at Target with a pool noodle.
Post dinner time Sissy conquering.
Evening playtime, complete with a run-of-the-mill Sissy whack.
Do you see a pattern here? Where did we find this kid?

Busy Bodies

Even though it's been hot hot HOT here, we've been working hard to stay active. On the weekends, and even sometimes during the week, Mom or Dad get up at 6:00ish just so that they can both get bike rides in before it gets too toasty. Anyone who knows Mom will find it hard to believe that she gets up at 5:30 to have some peace and quiet followed by an early bike ride.

Nash and I have been very active as well. This summer we've been doing Family Yoga once a month with a bunch of Mama's, 4- and almost 2-year olds. Our good friend Claire hired a yoga instructor to do backyard yoga which is a perfect environment for everyone - especially when the almost 2-year-olds need other distractions such as dirt, toys or water tables.

On top of that I started swimming lessons last week. I have been getting progressively more nervous about water, so it was time for lessons. Mom was nervous that it would be traumatic, but almost instantly I had an ear-to-ear smile on my face the entire time. My instructor is very gentle and I've been working on getting my head and face in the water, blowing bubbles, dog-paddling, and floating on my back. The facilities are nice and there is plenty of comfortable space for Mr. Nash to do what he does best - eat "nacks!"

4th of July Camping

Mom and Dad reluctantly decided to camp this weekend after a busy week at home, but thankfully Mr. Nash and I did great and we were all so thankful that we did! It had been three years since we went to Stanley and we missed it so much - it's truly heaven on earth. Mr. Nash was scared at bedtime the first night and cried while pointing to the car and saying "home" (which was very sad) but fortunately Mom brought the sound machine and the rain sound quickly snapped him out of his funk. The second night he was spunky and playful and not scared. Nash and I even slept in till 7 and 8 (!!) in our own sleeping bags which was a refreshing change from last summer's disastrous first camping event as a family of four.

As usual, I was inspired to do artwork which made me very happy. Mr. Nash ate fruit, crackers, granola bars, and other yummy camp food nearly nonstop which made him very happy.

On Friday Mom and Dad's good friends Ben and Brooke & their kids Wyatt (almost 4) and Ellie (almost 2) met us at Redfish Lake and we played on the beach for 7 hours. Good times and thank you Stanley for continuing to deliver great memories
