Dancing and Walking

I made it through the first month and have decided that this school thing isn't so bad after all. They have lots of great toys, they snuggle me, we go outside to play and find mud, and we sing and dance. I love to dance and jump! Here is a little clip of me clapping my hands to patty cake as well as a very brief preview of my latest dance moves. (We all love Grammy and Bompa TV, of course.)

I'm now walking 100% of the time to get around. It's pretty crazy that in just a month I went from mostly crawling and cruising to being such a fierce walker. It's hard to believe how quickly I've gone from being a baby who needs to be carried around the house to a little girl running around school with eleven other 1 and 2 year-olds in such a short period of time. Here is a clip showing my latest walking skills. Mom says to please ignore the path of destruction (toys, Tupperware, spices, books, puzzles) along the way.

I even walk to the mailbox with Mom. It only takes about 20 minutes with stops to pick up rocks, go up-down-up-down (& up-down...) on the sidewalk curb, and take mini-detours through the grass!

And I STILL love to play with my blocks.

School Girl

Sorry I haven't made any updates in a while. I started school (daycare) two days per week the first week of January, so I've been really busy. My first day went pretty well. My teacher set up tumble blocks for me and I played SO hard. I was a little over-tired from my playing, so I went home a few hours early. The next two school days didn't go very well. I realized that this was not just a one-time thing and that I was going to spend another day apart from my Mom. I cried most of the day and needed to be held by the teachers. My Mom had to come rescue me in the early afternoon both days. My fourth day went much better and I made it through the entire day! I'm just so used to spending the entire day with my Mom, so this is going to take some adjustment.

Dad gave me mohawk hair to help cheer me up after a long day at school. You have to clean off all those germs from those slobbery boys, you know?
My walking is going really well! I just love to walk everywhere and practice my new skill. It's a lot of work though, and sometimes I just like to relax and cuddle with my "Guys".
Mom and Dad suggested that maybe I should wear a helmet while practicing my walking skills. Will Tupperware work instead?

Happy Walkin' New Year

Peek-a-boo... Happy New Year!
I took my first steps early in December and spent the rest of month cautiously experimenting with my new skills. But on New Year's Day while Dad was working in the garage and Mom was in the kitchen cooking dinner I decided to walk from the stairway banister to the living room. Just like that. Then today I decided to walk from my bedroom to Mom and Dad's bathroom. And then from the living room to the kitchen..kitchen to living room....repeat. So I guess you could say that my New Year's Resolution was to become a walkin' girl!

Oops, no tears were spilled in the making of this next clip.
