Sun Valley EnduroCup with Team Kindig

This past weekend, Ryan competed in the Sun Valley, Idaho Scott EnduroCup mountain bike race. Two days, 5 timed stages (mostly downhill), 4 hours 48 minutes on the bike, 39.5 miles with 8,285 feet of descending (timed) and 4,755 feet of climbing (untimed). He had 5 clean and consistent stages and finished 12th overall in his category. He left it all out on the course and had a super fun time. It was so fun to see Ryan ride the Enduro, a race he postponed 2 years ago for me, on the trails that he loves.

When in Rome, or Sun Valley, you make a mini-vacation out of a weekend like this. The kids and I played and they even did a mini-race of their own. Brings a smile to my face to see their love of bikes and competitive spirit. I fit in a run and we all went out for a fancy dinner at our old favorite The Ketchum Grill. Pricey with 4 diners, but we’re just happy the kids can hang so well at fancy restaurants!

Miss Jill and Lucy

Reese spent her second week of summer vacation with her good friend Lucy and nanny Jill. Miss Jill is wonderful and took them swimming, went painting at Ceramica, went cherry picking in Emmett, did crafts, played games, and rode bikes. The week was mostly a success.... Both girls are very smart and competitive and after 5 days were in need of a break from each other. Reese is at mountain biking camp this week which has been another huge success - no surprises there - and will be happy to see Lucy and Miss Jill again next week.

Reese spent her first week of summer vacation at the Asana Climbing Gym. She is a natural and we're excited to do more climbing in the future.

Memorial Day Camping

We kicked off the 2016 camping season with a wonderful trip to the Middle Fork of the Boise River. We were so happy to find such a beautiful (free) camp site with no reservation on a holiday weekend. Happy to be camping in Idaho again!
Nash was the only one who came prepared with a backpack. Fortunately it was just big enough to carry snacks.
Made it 3 miles up and back with lots of encouragement and 2 snack breaks.

Nash's Preschool Graduation

Last month our baby graduated from preschool! He loves Montessori school, he loves his teachers & especially Miss Dawn, and he loves his best buddy Elias. Starting kindergarten in the fall makes us cringe a little thinking about our baby being with the big kids, but seeing him as one of the "big kids" at Boise River Montessori makes us proud and excited to see what he will accomplish in grade school. He will continue to go to BRM for the summer and is enjoying the relaxed summer schedule that has included lots of water play so far.
